Springs Resorts
A fifty one room motel located in the southern highlands, co-located to a club offering shared facilities with the club.
The building is located on surplus club land bisected by a watercourse.
The motel includes accomodation, a separate manger’s residence, kitchen and guest laundry facilities.
Designed to complement the character of the southern highlands the building is a two storey building using traditional forms of pitched roofs and balconies and constructed of brick.
The plan is designed to form an internal courtyard which accommodates the parking area. Conceived as a long continuous street front behind a row of mature alder trees which shelter the accommodation rooms from the street.
The buildings are designed with a base course of exposed face brick and the upper storey of coloured rendered brickwork. Upper floors are provided with juliette balconies to allow full height glazing and ventilation. Roofs are tiled in the traditional manner.
